About Us:

We are a New Mexico non-profit corporation and a 501(c)3, dedicated to giving pets a SECOND CHANCE at a happy life. We are all volunteer and we exist on donations. We desperately need monetary donations or donations of food, bedding, treats, toys, etc. But even more, we need foster homes, or special homes, that are willing to adopt our special dogs - then we can go out and save some more.... because we take in the dogs that are often overlooked, we have a very slow "turn-over".  Please consider adopting a SCAR dog.

What We Do:

We are an all-volunteer, all-foster-based no-kill rescue group.  We are a small group but we definitely make a difference helping the dogs and cats (mostly dogs) who are overlooked; we "specialize" in the dogs who really need a second (or third or fourth) chance at a happy life.

We exist solely on donations and adoption fees we collect.  All of the animals leaving our group and being placed in forever homes are spayed or neutered, microchipped and current on rabies' vaccine.  Our foster homes typically end up buying their own food for their foster dogs (it is difficult to get donated food and we don't usually have funds to supply the fosters with food). 

We do some adoption events but since everyone in our group works full time and has kids, we can't do them every week.  We do many good placements from our website which is why we are always trying to promote our website.

All our dogs and cats are in foster care.  Our foster parents are very cooperative though and can schedule times for you to meet the dog of your dreams.  We have an application/interview form that will need to be completed and we also perform a home visit as part of of the application approval process.  The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, microchip and age-appropriate vaccines.
